Quantity Surveyor – Road Construction Project

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join our road construction project in Moshi, Tanzania. The role involves managing all commercial aspects of the project, from cost estimation to billing and subcontractor coordination.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare quantity take‑offs, Bills of Quantities (BOQ) and cost estimates for road works.
• Verify contractor and subcontractor bills and measurements.
• Monitor project costs and maintain cost‑control records.
• Prepare Interim Payment Certificates (IPCs) and client billing documentation.
• Coordinate with the site execution team to track work progress and measurements.
• Maintain records of material consumption and project variations.
• Review drawings and contract documents for commercial compliance.
• Assist in budget preparation, forecasting and support procurement and contract management activities.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Civil Engineering or Quantity Surveying.
• 5–8 years of experience in road/highway construction projects.
• Proven experience in quantity estimation, billing and cost management.
• Tanzanian nationality is mandatory.

Required skills

• Proficiency in MS Excel.
• Experience with quantity surveying software.
