Project Driver & Operations Assistant

About the role

Plan International is seeking a reliable professional to provide safe and efficient transportation while supporting project operations in Geita, Tanzania. The role combines driving duties with administrative and logistical support to ensure smooth programme delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the project vehicle, including fuel management, routine inspections, logbook maintenance, and compliance with safety and legal standards.
• Support project planning and delivery by coordinating meetings, trainings, workshops, and community engagements, and by handling records, documentation, and stakeholder communications.

Required profile

• Certificate or Diploma in Business Administration, Office Management, Logistics, or a related field.
• Minimum three years of professional driving experience with an NGO or similar organization, including experience on urban, rural and remote roads.
• Valid Tanzanian Driving Licence (Class C or higher) and a mandatory Defensive Driving Certificate.
• Clean driving record with no serious traffic violations.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Defensive driving techniques and road‑safety knowledge.
• Vehicle inspection and basic maintenance abilities.
• Record management, data entry and basic financial administration.
• First Aid certification (preferred).
