Patient Services Representative (PRN)

About the role

The Patient Services Representative (PRN) provides essential front‑office support in a hospital setting, ensuring patients are welcomed, registered, and guided through the intake process efficiently. This position works on an as‑needed basis to maintain smooth daily operations.

Key responsibilities

• Schedule walk‑in appointments accurately using the hospital EMR system.
• Register and check‑in patients upon arrival, completing new‑patient registration with precision.
• Collect co‑pays, post payments to patient accounts, and issue receipts through the EMR.
• Verify insurance information, obtain authorizations, and assemble patient information packets.
• Scan registration documents into the EMR and ensure all documentation is complete and compliant.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the front‑office area.
• Perform daily reporting within the EMR system.
• Assist with any additional tasks assigned by the supervisor.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least one year of experience in hospital or outpatient billing, insurance verification, collections, payment posting, or front‑office duties.
• Ability to lift 20 lb regularly, push/pull 25 lb, and stand or walk for up to five hours per day.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work in a fast‑paced environment.
