Operations Manager

About the role

The Operations Manager will lead the day‑to‑day running of Mvuvi Boutique Resort, an upscale beachfront property in Kiwengwa, Zanzibar. Reporting to ownership, this full‑time, on‑site position ensures that front office, housekeeping, food & beverage and guest services operate seamlessly to deliver high‑quality hospitality.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate and supervise all operational departments including front desk, housekeeping, F&B and guest services.
• Plan staff schedules, conduct training, and evaluate performance to maintain service standards.
• Manage vendor relationships, monitor inventories, and control operational budgets and costs.
• Analyse guest feedback, resolve service issues promptly, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, and quality regulations.
• Collaborate with ownership on operational planning and resort projects.

Required profile

• Proven experience in hotel or resort operations management, covering front office, housekeeping and food & beverage.
• Strong people‑management abilities with experience in team leadership, training and performance assessment.
• Solid organisational skills for scheduling, workflow optimisation and process improvement.
• Basic financial competence in budgeting, cost control, reporting and vendor management.
• Excellent guest service orientation, conflict‑resolution and cross‑cultural communication.
• Relevant education in Hospitality Management, Business Administration or a related field; boutique or luxury property experience is a plus.
