Occupational Health Nurse

About the role

The Occupational Health Nurse will provide primary nursing care at the North Mara Mine Clinic, supporting the health and safety of employees in a mining environment. This role combines clinical duties with health promotion, injury management and workplace risk assessment.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver nursing care and daily patient triage at the mine clinic.
• Administer prescribed medicines, injections and vaccinations.
• Perform occupational health investigations such as audiometry, spirometry and vision screening during medical examinations.
• Inspect and maintain clinic and ambulance equipment.
• Maintain accurate employee medical records.
• Manage return‑to‑work programs following injuries or prolonged illness.
• Assess work environments for health and safety hazards.
• Provide health and safety training, including site induction and specialized programs (PHE, First Aid, HIV/AIDS, malaria).
• Participate in health promotion activities and awareness sessions.

Required profile

• Diploma in Nursing from a recognised institution.
• 2–3 years of nursing experience; mining industry experience is an advantage.
