Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning (MEL) Intern

About the role

The Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning (MEL) Intern will support the NOURISH Tanzania project by ensuring high‑quality data is collected, processed, and used for evidence‑based decision making. Working closely with field teams, value‑chain coordinators and implementing partners, the intern will help strengthen the project’s MEL function during its mid‑term phase.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in data collection, verification, cleaning, compilation and reporting for the project.
• Coordinate with field officers, enumerators, CSOs and extension staff during data‑collection exercises.
• Support the development, deployment and management of digital data‑collection tools such as Kobo Toolbox and ODK.
• Review submitted datasets for completeness and accuracy.
• Prepare regular MEL reports for project management and donor reporting.

Required profile

• Recent graduate or final‑year student in a relevant field (e.g., Development Studies, Agriculture, Environmental Science, Statistics).
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work with field teams.
• Interest in climate‑smart agriculture, food security and rural development.

Required skills

• Experience with digital data‑collection platforms (Kobo Toolbox, ODK).
• Basic data‑management skills (data cleaning, compilation).
