About the role
The Project Associate will support the RE2CLID programme in Kigoma, providing programmatic assistance for climate‑induced displacement interventions. The role involves monitoring and evaluation, reporting, implementation support, partnership building, capacity development and knowledge management.
Key responsibilities
- Support monitoring, evaluation and reporting of RE2CLID activities.
- Assist with programme implementation, strategic partnerships and policy research.
- Facilitate capacity‑building, learning and knowledge‑management activities.
- Organise trainings, workshops, consultations and steering‑committee meetings.
- Coordinate field activities with government authorities, implementing partners and local communities.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (or high school diploma with five years experience) and at least three years of professional experience.
- Experience liaising with governmental authorities, UN agencies, NGOs and working with migrants, refugees or internally displaced persons.
- Fluency in English and Kiswahili (oral and written).
- Demonstrated adherence to IOM values of inclusion, integrity, professionalism, courage and empathy.
Required skills
- Field coordination and liaison with local authorities and partners.
- Knowledge of climate‑action project design, durable solutions and disaster risk management.
- Budget proposal development and budget management.
- Quantitative and qualitative data collection, survey design and field data‑collection methodologies.
- Familiarity with mobile data‑collection tools such as KoboToolbox, ODK, SurveyCTO or CommCare.
- Data cleaning, validation and quality‑assurance techniques.
