Mechanical Technician – Heavy Vehicle Maintenance

About the role

The Mechanical Technician will report to the Site Maintenance Supervisor and be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining heavy‑vehicle electrical and mechanical systems across a fleet of Volvo, Sino, MAN and HOWO trucks. The role ensures high‑quality repairs, excellent customer service, and achievement of reliability targets.

Key responsibilities

• Perform preventive, predictive and corrective maintenance on diesel‑engine truck chassis.
• Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical faults and replace defective components such as transmissions, brakes, steering, clutch, suspension and driveline parts.
• Conduct inspections, monitor equipment condition and complete maintenance job cards and service records.
• Read and interpret technical manuals, schematics and drawings to guide repairs.
• Support breakdown response, emergency repairs and pre‑task safety assessments.

Required profile

• Degree/Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or a full technician certificate in mechanical engineering.
• Mechanic’s Trade Test in heavy equipment maintenance.
• 5‑10 years of experience with heavy‑equipment fleets (Volvo, Sino, HOWO, MAN, Komatsu, Caterpillar).
• Valid heavy‑vehicle driver’s licence.
