Management Accountant – Mining Operations

About the role

The Management Accountant will support the Senior Management Accountant by delivering timely, accurate, and insightful financial and operational analysis for a large‑scale gold mining operation in Tanzania. The role focuses on cost control, budgeting, forecasting, performance analysis and compliance with company policies, Tanzanian regulations and international reporting standards.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare monthly management accounts for the mine site, including profit & loss, cost centre reports, variance analysis and commentary.
• Analyse production, processing, maintenance and support function costs, highlighting trends, risks and improvement opportunities.
• Maintain standard and unit cost models such as cost per tonne mined, cost per tonne milled and cost per ounce produced.
• Participate in the annual budgeting process and produce rolling forecasts for costs, production and cash flow.
• Implement cost‑control frameworks, monitor expenditures against budgets and support the development of key performance indicators.
• Evaluate capital expenditure proposals, monitor project budgets and assist with asset life‑of‑mine planning.
