Legal Content & Legislative Intelligence Associate

About the role

JurisTech is seeking a detail‑oriented Legal Content & Legislative Intelligence Associate to support the development and maintenance of Zanzibar’s legal intelligence and compliance platform. The role focuses on legislative monitoring, structuring legal content, version control, and ensuring the integrity of the digital legal database.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor and procure Government Gazette publications and regulatory updates.
• Track and analyse new laws, amendments, repeals, subsidiary legislation, court rules, and practice directions.
• Maintain and update the Master Legislative Inventory (MLI).
• Prepare structured legal update briefs and compliance summaries.
• Conduct legislative version control and amendment tracking.
• Classify and archive legal instruments according to internal SOPs.
• Identify and flag urgent regulatory or compliance developments.
• Transform legislative information into searchable digital legal intelligence.
• Coordinate with the technical team on uploads, tagging and database structure.
• Conduct periodic legal content audits and inventory reviews.
• Maintain structured audit logs and reporting records.

Required profile

• LLB required (Admitted Advocate preferred).
• 2–4 years of legal practice, legal research or regulatory experience preferred.
• Strong legal drafting and statutory interpretation skills.
• High attention to detail and structured working style.
• Comfortable working with databases, structured systems and digital workflows.
• Interest in legal technology, compliance systems and digital legal infrastructure.
• Strong organisational and documentation discipline.
