IT Manager – Lead Technology Strategy & Operations

About the role

Our client, a fast‑growing construction materials supplier in Tanzania, is looking for an experienced Information Technology Manager to steer the company’s technology function. The role will ensure reliable IT infrastructure, robust cybersecurity, and seamless business systems that support rapid business growth.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement the IT strategy aligned with business objectives.
• Manage and maintain networks, servers, hardware, and software infrastructure.
• Ensure security, availability, and performance of all IT systems and applications.
• Oversee ERP, inventory, sales and other enterprise systems to improve operational efficiency.
• Lead cybersecurity initiatives, data protection, backup and disaster recovery planning.
• Manage IT projects such as system upgrades, software implementations and digital transformation initiatives.
• Supervise the IT team and provide technical support across all business functions.
• Control IT budgets, vendor relationships, software licensing and technology procurement.
• Monitor system performance and recommend technology improvements.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in IT management or a senior IT leadership role.
• Professional certifications such as ITIL, Microsoft, Cisco, PMP or CISSP are an advantage.
