Import Executive – Manage Tanzania Import Operations

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Import Executive to lead end‑to‑end import operations in Mtwara, Tanzania. The role requires deep knowledge of Tanzanian import regulations, especially TISEZA/EPZA, and the ability to ensure smooth customs clearance and timely delivery of goods.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the full import cycle from shipment dispatch to final customs clearance.
• Prepare and verify import documentation such as invoices, packing lists, bills of lading, and certificates of origin.
• Coordinate with freight forwarders, customs brokers, shipping lines, and relevant government authorities.
• Ensure strict compliance with TISEZA/EPZA regulations and all applicable Tanzanian import laws.
• Monitor shipment status, resolve clearance or logistics issues promptly, and maintain accurate records.
• Liaise with suppliers and internal stakeholders to guarantee smooth import execution.
• Prepare regular import‑related reports and maintain documentation archives.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years of hands‑on experience in import operations within Tanzania.
• Strong practical knowledge of TISEZA/EPZA rules and import compliance.
• Proven experience in customs clearance, import documentation, and freight coordination.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple shipments simultaneously.
• Excellent communication and problem‑solving abilities.
• Immediate availability preferred.
