Head of Finance – Tanzania

About the role

The Head of Finance for GardaWorld Tanzania will lead the finance function, ensuring robust financial management, accurate reporting, and compliance with statutory requirements. Reporting to the Finance Director – Africa and working closely with business unit heads, this role provides critical financial insight to support strategic decision‑making.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct financial analysis, including budgeting, month‑on‑month variance analysis, and provide clear explanations for variances.
• Oversee payroll processing, verify calculations, and ensure timely salary payments.
• Prepare and review budgets, financial trends, and forecasts in collaboration with business unit directors and department heads.
• Maintain the General Ledger, ensuring appropriate account designations for reliable management information.
• Manage the preparation and timely delivery of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and management reports.
• Liaise with auditors, confirm statements, and implement necessary adjustments.
• Develop, update, and enforce internal control systems and financial policies across the company.
• Monitor compliance with statutory regulations and company policies.
• Support credit control activities to ensure timely debt collection.
• Oversee treasury and banking functions, approve purchase orders, payments, and ensure suppliers are paid promptly.
• Lead and develop the finance team in line with GardaWorld HR policies.
