Graphic Designer, Content Creator & Social Media Manager

About the role

A client of Shugulika Africa Limited, a company in the creative and marketing industry, is looking for a Graphic Designer and Content Creator. This hybrid role combines visual design and content development, asking for someone who can make compelling visual assets and engaging written or multimedia content for digital and print channels.

Key responsibilities

• Design visuals for digital channels such as social media, websites, blogs, email campaigns and online ads.
• Create print materials like brochures, flyers, posters and presentations.
• Write and edit clear, audience-specific content for various platforms.
• Develop creative concepts for marketing campaigns and brand initiatives.
• Plan and manage content calendars for consistent, timely delivery.
• Collaborate with the marketing team so content matches brand tone, voice and design standards.
• Capture and edit photos and videos for campaigns and events.
• Track content performance and recommend improvements based on data and trends.
• Stay up to date on design, marketing and social media trends.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design, Marketing, Communications, Journalism or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• Proven experience in both graphic design and content creation.
• Familiarity with social media platforms, content management systems and SEO best practices.
• Excellent communication, time management and multitasking skills.
• A portfolio showing both design and content work.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) and other design tools.
• Strong writing, editing and storytelling skills.
• Basic photography and video editing skills are an advantage.
