Fleet Officer

About the role

The Fleet Officer will support the implementation of Dangote Cement Tanzania’s transport policies and processes. This role ensures smooth movement of cement products and raw materials between the plant and approved locations while maintaining safety and efficiency.

Key responsibilities

• Manage vehicular traffic and loading/unloading activities at the plant to keep depot operations orderly.
• Coordinate storage of incoming materials in designated plant facilities.
• Load products onto allocated trucks for dispatch to approved external locations.
• Ensure all logistics activities comply with Health, Safety, and Environment standards.
• Load customers’ trucks on a FIFO basis and prepare logistics reports with recommendations.
• Oversee recovery of AGO for short distances and timely collection of accident documentation.
• Allocate vehicles for raw material collection, spare parts, and other plant requirements.
• Liaise with transporters regarding truck arrivals, breakdowns, and emergencies.
• Perform any additional duties assigned by the Head of Department or senior management.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Business, Transport & Logistics, or a related field.
• Minimum of three years’ experience in transport management.

Required skills

• Proficiency with MS Excel.
• Familiarity with project management applications.
