Fleet Officer

About the role

The Fleet Officer will support the implementation of Dangote Cement Tanzania’s transport policies and coordinate the movement of cement products and raw materials between the plant and approved locations. The role ensures efficient depot operations, compliance with health, safety and environment standards, and timely logistics reporting.

Key responsibilities

• Manage vehicular traffic and loading/unloading activities at the plant to maintain orderliness and efficiency.
• Coordinate storage of incoming materials and loading of products onto trucks for dispatch.
• Ensure logistics activities comply with DIL’s HSE standards and follow FIFO principles for customer deliveries.
• Prepare and submit logistics reports, providing recommendations for improvement.
• Oversee recovery of AGO for short distances and ensure timely collection of accident documentation.
• Allocate vehicles for raw material collection, spare parts, and other plant requirements.
• Liaise with transporters regarding truck arrivals, breakdowns, and emergencies.
• Perform any other duties assigned by the Head of Department or senior management.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Transport & Logistics or a related field.
• Minimum of three years’ experience in transport management, preferably in the cement or manufacturing sector.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving and communication skills.
• Attention to detail and willingness to adapt to changing requirements.

Required skills

• Proficiency in MS Excel.
• Experience with project management applications.
• Basic knowledge of system‑based inventory management systems.
