Electrical Sales Engineer

About the role

EMP International is seeking an Electrical Sales Engineer to join its on‑site team in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. In this full‑time position you will act as the technical bridge between customers and the company, identifying needs, proposing suitable electrical solutions and supporting the sales process from quotation to post‑sale service.

Key responsibilities

• Identify customer requirements and recommend appropriate electrical products.
• Prepare quotations, technical proposals and detailed documentation.
• Deliver product presentations and demonstrations to clients.
• Provide technical support and answer customer inquiries.
• Coordinate with internal teams to ensure accurate and timely delivery.
• Manage the sales pipeline, maintain strong relationships and follow up on leads.
• Offer post‑sales technical assistance.
• Conduct market research and represent the company at industry events.
• Report on sales activities and performance metrics.

Required profile

• Strong sales engineering and technical support capabilities.
• Proven sales and customer service experience.
• Effective communication skills for presenting technical information.
• Solid background in electrical engineering or a related field.
• Good organizational and time‑management abilities.
• Proficiency with basic computer applications such as CRM tools and MS Office.
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering preferred; relevant sales or industry experience is an advantage.
• Willingness to work on‑site in Dar es Salaam and travel to customer locations as needed.
