Depot Manager – Operations

About the role

The Depot Manager is responsible for overseeing all depot and gantry operations, ensuring safe, efficient, and compliant handling of petroleum products. This role reports to the Operations Manager and leads a team of coordinators, supervisors, and operators.

Key responsibilities

• Provide overall leadership and management of depot and gantry activities, including product receipt, storage, transfer, and tanker loading.
• Ensure all operations comply with company policies, HSSEQ standards, and regulatory requirements.
• Monitor performance metrics such as throughput, efficiency, and reliability.
• Oversee stock control systems, review reconciliation reports, and investigate variances.
• Implement and maintain safety management systems and Permit to Work processes.
• Act as Incident Commander during emergencies and ensure emergency response plans are effective.
• Control contractor activities and coordinate maintenance to guarantee infrastructure reliability.
• Optimize utilization of personnel, equipment, and other resources.
• Prepare and approve operational, safety, and stock reports.

Required profile

• Proven experience in managing depot or similar fuel handling operations.
• Strong knowledge of safety, HSSEQ, and regulatory compliance in the petroleum sector.
• Leadership ability to supervise direct and indirect staff across multiple functions.
• Excellent problem‑solving skills for stock variances and operational issues.
