Declaration Officer

About the role

We are looking for a detail‑oriented Declaration Officer to join our logistics and freight forwarding team. You will play a key part in ensuring smooth customs clearance and regulatory compliance for air, ocean and road shipments.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare, review and process customs declarations accurately and on time.
• Ensure full compliance with customs regulations, policies and procedures.
• Liaise with clearing agents, clients, shipping lines and regulatory authorities.
• Maintain accurate records of declarations, shipments and related documentation.
• Identify and resolve documentation and clearance issues efficiently.
• Monitor regulatory updates and ensure adherence to all applicable requirements.

Required profile

• Diploma or degree in Clearing & Forwarding, Logistics, Supply Chain Management or a related field.
• 1–2 years of experience in clearing and forwarding, customs clearance or a similar role.
• Sound knowledge of customs procedures, import/export documentation and clearance processes.
• Strong attention to detail, accuracy and organizational skills.
• Good communication and stakeholder‑management abilities.
• Valid Clearing & Forwarding Certification issued by the Tanzania Revenue Authority (TRA) is mandatory.
