Strategic Operating Partner

About the role

JumlaJumla is seeking a Strategic Operating Partner to lead operational excellence across its commerce and logistics ecosystem in Tanzania. Based on‑site in Dar es Salaam, you will work closely with product, logistics and customer success teams to drive growth and improve service quality.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee day‑to‑day marketplace performance, service quality and fulfillment efficiency.
• Analyze operational data, identify bottlenecks and implement process improvements.
• Coordinate cross‑functional initiatives with product, logistics and customer success teams.
• Collaborate with senior leadership on strategic expansion plans and align operational priorities with business goals.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with vendors, logistics partners and internal stakeholders.
• Mentor and develop operations team members to ensure consistent delivery standards.

Required profile

• Proven experience in operations, strategy or general management within technology, logistics, marketplace or e‑commerce environments.
• Strong data‑analysis, problem‑solving and process‑optimization capabilities.
• Experience managing partners or stakeholders such as vendors and logistics providers.
• Ability to lead cross‑functional projects and drive accountability in a fast‑paced setting.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with confidence presenting to senior leadership.
• Willingness to work on‑site in Dar es Salaam and engage directly with local teams and partners.
• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Operations, Supply Chain, Economics or related field; advanced degree is a plus.
• Familiarity with the Tanzanian or broader African market is highly beneficial.
