Data Science Specialist

About the role

SWAIRAX is looking for a Data Science Specialist to join its Dar es Salaam office. You will work closely with product, engineering and business teams to create data‑driven solutions that power our construction, beauty and fintech platforms.

Key responsibilities

• Collect and clean data from multiple sources.
• Perform exploratory data analysis to uncover patterns.
• Build, validate and deploy statistical and machine‑learning models.
• Translate model outputs into actionable business insights.
• Monitor model performance and optimise algorithms for production.
• Contribute to experimentation frameworks that improve user experience.
• Document work and communicate complex concepts to non‑technical stakeholders.

Required profile

• Strong foundation in statistics, probability, hypothesis testing and machine‑learning concepts.
• Proven experience in data analytics and turning raw data into clear insights.
• Excellent analytical skills for problem framing and decision support.
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering or a related field.
• Ability to work on‑site in Dar es Salaam and collaborate in cross‑functional teams.
• Familiarity with African or emerging market contexts and interest in locally relevant products.
