Country Sales Team Leader – FMCG – Tanzania

About the role

The client, a leading food FMCG company, is looking for a dynamic, commercially‑driven Country Sales Team Leader to grow its manufacturing business in Tanzania. The role will drive sales growth, expand market penetration and lead local sales and operations teams.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute country‑specific sales strategies to meet revenue, volume and market‑share targets.
• Expand retail, wholesale and modern‑trade networks across Tanzania and identify new business opportunities.
• Establish and manage an effective distribution network, appointing distributors, dealers and key retail partners.
• Monitor supply‑chain, logistics and inventory to minimise stock‑outs and excess inventory.
• Lead new product launches and drive category growth across sales channels.
• Recruit, train, coach and manage the local sales and operations team, setting performance targets.
• Coordinate with the Kenya‑based management team and ensure compliance with financial and reporting requirements.

Required profile

• Tanzania national (mandatory).
• Senior‑level professional with at least 96 months (8 years) of sales experience in FMCG.
• Proven track record of achieving sales growth and managing distribution networks.
• Strong leadership and team‑development capabilities.
