Country Representative - Cookstove Distribution Programme

About the role

Q-Sourcing, a manpower management firm operating in the East African region, is recruiting a Country Representative for its Tanzania-based client, DelAgua, which distributes improved cookstoves. The role reports to the Chief Operating Officer and is based in Dodoma or Dar es Salaam. It combines external relations with government and community stakeholders and internal leadership of in-country operations.

Key responsibilities

• Establish and lead DelAgua's operations in Tanzania, securing approvals from government and regulatory authorities
• Oversee programme operations, including partnerships with the Government of Tanzania, mainly the Ministry of Energy
• Develop additional public-private and B2B partnerships and strengthen ties with local government bodies
• Lead the design and implementation of cookstove distribution plans and the recruitment, training and performance management of field workers, including data submission via a smartphone platform
• Supervise Programme Coordinators and support the generation of carbon credits (CERs, VERs)
• Support access to climate finance, Gold Standard and Verra verification, and climate audits
• Contribute to the communications plan, and oversee nationwide Kitchen Performance Testing

Required profile

• Minimum of 5 years' experience in a senior management role
• Proven experience engaging with local and national government authorities and regulatory bodies
• Demonstrated experience managing and developing a team
• Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities
• Strong organisational and analytical skills, delivering accurate work to strict deadlines

Required skills

• Exceptional verbal and written presentation skills in English and Swahili
• Public speaking and networking skills
