Community Advisor

About the role

The Community Advisor will support the implementation of community engagement, stakeholder relations, social performance, and community development initiatives for the Nyanzaga Gold Project. This role acts as the primary liaison between the project, local communities, village leadership, government authorities, and other stakeholders to ensure transparent and timely communication.

Key responsibilities

• Build and maintain positive relationships with local communities, village leaders, traditional authorities, and government representatives.
• Conduct regular community visits, meetings, focus groups, and stakeholder forums to understand concerns and priorities.
• Support planning, implementation, and monitoring of community development and social investment programs.
• Receive, document, track, and resolve community grievances in line with company procedures.
• Collect and analyse community feedback, social performance data, and monitor emerging social risks.
• Assist with baseline surveys, socio‑economic studies, and community assessments.
• Promote local employment, training, and procurement opportunities and help communities understand recruitment processes.

Required profile

• Proven experience in community engagement and stakeholder relations, preferably in a mining or resource‑based environment.
• Ability to manage grievance processes, conduct follow‑up engagements, and produce clear reports.
• Familiarity with social performance monitoring, baseline surveys, and socio‑economic assessments.
• Strong communication skills to convey project information in a culturally appropriate manner.
