Clinical Training Lead – Zanzibar (Full‑time)

About the role
This position leads clinical training and mentorship for health professionals in Zanzibar, supporting both in‑service and pre‑service education. The role is based within an NGO focused on family and health transformation and works closely with universities, hospitals, and the public health system.
Key responsibilities
- Design and deliver in‑service training and clinical mentorship for maternal, newborn and child health providers.
- Develop pre‑service education partnerships with universities and coordinate student placements.
- Manage a high‑fidelity simulation centre, including scenario development and debriefing.
- Lead continuing professional development initiatives and advocate for system‑wide quality improvements.
Required profile
- Medical Doctor (MD) – family medicine strongly encouraged, Advanced Practice Nurse Practitioner, or Registered Nurse‑Midwife with strong women’s, maternal and child health experience.
- Current, valid professional certifications.
- Minimum three years post‑registration clinical experience in maternal, newborn and child health.
- Proven experience in clinical training, mentorship or skills‑based facilitation.
- Fluency in Kiswahili preferred; English proficiency sufficient for reporting and donor communication.
- Commitment to Safe, Respectful, Trauma‑Informed Care as daily practice.

- Simulation‑based learning and structured clinical debriefing.
- Emergency obstetric and newborn care (EONC) protocols.
- Group antenatal education and group‑care delivery models.
- Curriculum development and educational program strengthening.
- Continuing professional development (CPD) framework design.
- Mental health integration in maternal health settings.
