CFS Data Clerk

About the role

As a CFS Data Clerk you will support the smooth operation of the Container Freight Station, handling gate transactions, documentation and reporting to ensure accurate and safe cargo movement. You will act as a liaison between yard operations, customers, customs and internal teams, maintaining high data quality and compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Perform Gate In and Gate Out transactions, issue Pick‑up/Delivery orders and Equipment Interchange Receipts (EIR).
• Monitor road traffic at the gate and yard to ensure safety of personnel.
• Generate internal and external reports and distribute them to stakeholders.
• Verify accuracy of inbound and outbound documentation and track container movements.
• Respond to internal and external customer queries with clear, concise information.
• Identify and address customer dissatisfaction, taking corrective action to prevent recurrence.
• Maintain an accurate outturn report and report any cargo discrepancies to the CFS Supervisor.
• Ensure compliance with yard and gate safety rules and achieve zero preventable incidents.

Required profile

• Working knowledge of Container Freight Station operations.
• Understanding of shipping documentation such as EIR, Bill of Lading and delivery orders.
• High level of attention to detail and data accuracy.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet operational targets.
• Strong communication skills for interaction with customers and internal teams.
