Area Manager – Laboratory Operations

About the role

MSALABS is seeking an experienced Area Manager to lead laboratory operations across a designated region. You will ensure the accurate preparation and processing of mineral samples, uphold safety and quality standards, and drive continuous improvement in a fast‑paced, hands‑on environment.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute operational strategies aligned with group goals for the area.
• Review analytical reports, perform quality‑control checks, and monitor job progress.
• Supervise and support lab managers; act as acting lab manager when required.
• Lead staffing, training, and equipment provisioning to meet operational standards.
• Plan and execute new lab setups, including site selection, infrastructure development, and equipment procurement.
• Ensure compliance with local laws, health‑and‑safety regulations, and industry standards through audits and risk assessments.
• Track and report KPIs to the Regional Manager, preparing monthly and quarterly performance reports.
• Identify improvement opportunities, implement corrective actions, and promote a culture of excellence.
• Maintain strong client relationships and coordinate with QA, HSE, business development, and other functions.
