Accountant

About the role

A travel agency and air ticketing company in Dar es Salaam is looking for a detail-oriented and organized Accountant to manage its financial transactions and keep accurate financial records. The position is full-time and on-site.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain the general ledger and prepare monthly financial reports
• Process invoices, payments and payroll accurately and on time
• Reconcile bank statements and manage accounts payable and receivable
• Prepare financial statements and assist with budget preparation and financial forecasting
• Carry out regular audits of financial documents and resolve financial discrepancies
• Prepare tax returns and ensure timely payments to regulatory authorities
• Work with other departments so financial processes fit operational needs
• Stay up to date with financial regulations and industry best practice

Required profile

• Degree in accounting or finance
• Experience in the travel or tourism sector is preferred
• Strong analytical skills and excellent attention to detail
