Technical Operator – Brewing

About the role

The Technical Operator – Brewing is responsible for operating, maintaining and managing brewing equipment to ensure safe, high‑quality production. The role focuses on adhering to standard operating procedures, environmental, health and safety standards, and delivering products that meet quality specifications.

Key responsibilities

• Operate and monitor brewing equipment according to SOPs.
• Perform equipment shutdowns and run machinery at rated speed.
• Capture production data and update reporting platforms.
• Maintain hygiene standards by keeping equipment and surrounding areas clean.
• Deliver product that meets all quality requirements and design parameters.
• Execute autonomous maintenance tasks, including CILT and LOTOTO where required.
• Use escalation matrix for process deviations or breakdowns.
• Conduct inspections, initiate work requests and troubleshoot equipment issues.
• Perform equipment changeovers and adjustments efficiently.

Required profile

• Diploma in Food Science & Technology, Chemical Engineering or Biological Science.
• At least 1 year of experience handling machines and autonomous maintenance in a manufacturing environment.

Required skills

• Operation of brewing machinery and equipment shutdown procedures.
• Use of digital platforms such as Orbis, Harford and STRATA.
• Autonomous maintenance techniques including CILT and LOTOTO.
• Application of MMS best practices.
