Service Engineer

About the role

Q-Sourcing Tanzania Limited, a manpower management solutions firm active in Tanzania, Uganda, Kenya, Rwanda and South Sudan, is recruiting a Service Engineer on behalf of its Tanzania-based client. The role sits in the Customer Service department, reports to the Country Manager and is based in Dar es Salaam. It covers service jobs, commissioning, spare parts and machine repairs.

Key responsibilities

• Interact with clients to handle service jobs, quotations and spare parts requests.
• Answer client calls and e-mails for technical support.
• Commission single machines and give technical support to projects.
• Carry out service contracts and machine servicing.
• Identify efficiency improvements through insights, retrofits and upgrades.
• Sourcing components while balancing cost, quality and lead time.
• Coordinate with other disciplines and ensure compliance with HSE responsibilities.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical or Mechatronic Engineering or a relevant field, or higher technological education.
• Minimum 3 years in a related technical position, or proof of sufficient skills.
• Firm grasp of mechanical and electrical engineering concepts.
• Excellent written and oral English and Swahili, and ability to work in international engineering teams.
• Willingness to travel and work abroad more than 60% of the time; locals only.
• Advantage: process experience in the milling industry (flour, feeds, coffee, pulses and rice processing).

Required skills

• Good knowledge of MS Office programs.
• Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills, sound judgment and decision-making.
• Ability to work under pressure and in a matrix organisation.
