Sales Manager - Hospitality

About the role

A client in the hospitality industry based in Dar es Salaam is looking for a dynamic, results-driven and commercially focused Sales Manager to lead the sales function, drive revenue growth and expand market presence. The role covers strategy, business development, client management and team leadership, and calls for a proven track record in hospitality sales.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute strategic sales plans to grow revenue and meet business objectives.
• Pursue new business in corporate, leisure, travel, government and group segments.
• Build and maintain relationships with existing and prospective clients.
• Lead, mentor and manage the sales team to hit individual and departmental targets.
• Prepare sales presentations, proposals and negotiate commercial terms.
• Develop annual sales budgets, forecasts and revenue projections, and monitor performance.
• Work with Operations and Marketing on promotions, packages and initiatives that drive occupancy and revenue.
• Monitor market trends, competitors and customer preferences; attend exhibitions and trade shows.
• Maintain sales pipelines and customer records in CRM systems, and report to senior management.
• Negotiate contracts and pricing while ensuring profitability and customer satisfaction.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Sales, Hospitality Management or a related field.
• 5-7 years of sales experience, including at least 3 years in hospitality.
• Proven success in meeting sales targets and growing revenue.
• Experience managing key accounts and leading sales teams.
• Willingness to travel for client meetings and business development.

Required skills

• Strong negotiation, presentation and analytical skills.
• Proficiency in CRM systems and Microsoft Office, especially Excel and PowerPoint.
• Excellent communication, planning and time management.
