Sales Head – Plastics & Metals (Tanzania)

About the role

The Sales Head will lead the sales function for a diversified portfolio of plastics, metal, and general trading products across Tanzania. This senior position is responsible for shaping strategy, driving revenue growth, and expanding market share in both urban and rural territories.

Key responsibilities

• Achieve and exceed monthly, quarterly and annual sales targets for all product lines.
• Develop and implement strategic sales plans aligned with company goals.
• Lead, mentor and supervise the national sales team to ensure high performance and market coverage.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers, channel partners and distributors.
• Identify public‑sector tenders, manage submissions and ensure compliance with PPRA/e‑procurement systems.
• Monitor market trends, competitor activity and customer needs to refine sales tactics.
• Coordinate with production, logistics and marketing to align supply, pricing and promotions.
• Train and support branch sales teams to strengthen brand positioning.
• Drive collections in partnership with accounts and enforce credit discipline.
• Maintain accurate CRM records, prepare sales reports and update management on performance.
• Represent the company at industry forums, exhibitions and trade shows.

Required profile

• 8‑10 years of progressive sales and marketing leadership experience in East African industrial or manufacturing sectors.
• Proven track record of revenue growth and market expansion.
• Strong strategic mindset with ability to develop and execute sales plans.
• Experience managing complex distribution networks and high‑performing teams.
• Familiarity with public‑sector procurement processes in Tanzania.
