Sales Development Specialist East Africa

About the role

CEVA Logistics is expanding its presence across East Africa and seeks a proactive Sales Development Specialist to drive new business and strengthen client relationships. You will work closely with the Business Development Manager and operational teams to deliver logistics solutions that meet market demand.

Key responsibilities

• Identify, engage and nurture new prospects and existing customers to secure contracts.
• Manage the full sales cycle from initial contact through negotiation and closing.
• Build and maintain a robust sales pipeline to achieve or exceed targets.
• Prospect using cold‑calling, face‑to‑face meetings and networking activities.
• Provide accurate sales forecasts and performance reports.
• Deliver compelling presentations and submit activity reports to leadership.
• Collaborate with station and operations managers to ensure customer needs are met.
• Schedule and execute a set number of face‑to‑face visits as directed.
• Record all sales activities in the Cview CRM system and submit regular reports.
• Maintain a portfolio of target accounts and drive progress toward closing deals.
• Resolve overdue accounts and adhere to client credit terms.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration (master’s degree or relevant certification is a plus).
• 3‑5 years of business development or field sales experience in the logistics industry.
• Strong knowledge of supply‑chain processes, customs regulations and e‑commerce logistics.
• Self‑motivated, detail‑oriented and able to work independently and within cross‑functional teams.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to operate in a multicultural environment.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Cview CRM system.
