Relationship Manager – SME Banking

About the role

The Relationship Manager SME will support the Head of SME Banking in achieving revenue and productivity targets while delivering excellent service to small‑and‑medium‑enterprise clients. You will lead a team of Relationship Officers, coach them, and ensure smooth processing of client applications from approval to payment.

Key responsibilities

• Achieve asset targets by promoting a full suite of banking products to SME customers.
• Monitor and drive the performance of Relationship Officers through daily scorecards, monthly reviews and pipeline reports.
• Oversee client application processing, ensuring compliance with service level agreements.
• Collaborate with Risk, Product, and other departments to enforce KYC, AML and financial sanctions policies.
• Organise SME Lending Forum meetings to align lending activities with risk appetite and profitability goals.
• Provide direct leadership, motivation and performance management for the Relationship Officer team.
• Develop and implement training and coaching programmes to build a high‑performing sales force.

Required profile

• Proven experience in SME banking or commercial relationship management.
• Strong leadership and people‑development capabilities.
• Ability to analyse financial data and manage risk‑related processes.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder‑management skills.
