Purchasing Manager

About the role

RIU Hotels & Resorts is looking for an analytical, proactive and results-driven Purchasing Manager to lead its procurement department in Zanzibar. The role oversees the full purchasing cycle for food and non-food items, optimises hotel financial performance, maintains standard cost controls and ensures high-quality supplier standards across the Zanzibar properties.

Key responsibilities

• Report directly to the Regional Corporate Purchasing Manager so that local purchasing follows global corporate guidelines.
• Prepare, launch and manage procurement tenders for food and non-food items, and run preliminary supplier comparisons reviewed by the corporate team.
• Lead daily purchasing and sourcing, and monitor compliance of procurement contracts to prevent operational disruptions.
• Manage standard pricing models, analyse monthly price deviations, track supplier compliance and protect operational margins.
• Guide and motivate the procurement team in a fast-paced resort environment.
• Work with other departments to anticipate supply needs and keep resort operations running smoothly.

Required profile

• High attention to detail, methodical work style, leadership and ability to anticipate supply risks.
• Fluent English, written and spoken.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
