Project Officer – Rural Development (7 positions)

About the role

The Project Officer will support the implementation, coordination and performance management of Raising The Village programmes across several districts in Tanzania. Working closely with district technical teams, government officials and community agents, the officer ensures activities are delivered according to approved designs, work plans and technical standards.

Key responsibilities

• Align government officials’ and Project Assistants’ work plans with approved project designs and monitor implementation.
• Manage work plans across assigned clusters and escalate issues to the Project Manager.
• Conduct at least three field visits per week to verify and support on‑the‑ground activities.
• Assist district, ward and village officials in delivering RTV‑aligned training, coaching and follow‑up sessions.
• Strengthen the capacity of government extension staff and community agents through structured coaching and Training‑of‑Trainers cascades.
• Document implementation learnings to inform adaptive management and scaling decisions.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years of experience in project implementation or agricultural development.
• Demonstrated ability to work with government extension services and community organisations.
• Willingness to travel up to 80 % of the time and reside in the assigned wards.
• Strong coordination and problem‑solving skills.
