Programme Policy Officer (Micronutrients) – Project Coordinator

About the role

The World Food Programme (WFP) in Tanzania is seeking a Programme Policy Officer specializing in micronutrients to act as Project Coordinator for the Postcode Lotterij Food Fortification Project. The incumbent will support the Government of Tanzania in delivering equitable economic growth through nutrition‑focused interventions.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate the implementation of the Postcode Lotterij Food Fortification Project.
• Provide technical and financial assistance to strengthen national nutrition service delivery systems.
• Promote healthy diets and facilitate social behaviour change for improved nutrition outcomes.
• Support the execution of national priorities such as food fortification and biofortification as outlined in the National Multisectoral Nutrition Action Plan (NMNAP II).
• Monitor project progress, ensure compliance with WFP standards, and prepare regular reports for stakeholders.

Required profile

• Relevant academic background in nutrition, public health, agriculture, or related fields.
• Experience working on nutrition programmes, policy development, or food fortification initiatives.
• Proven ability to collaborate with government agencies, partners, and donors.
• Strong analytical and reporting skills.
