Production Senior Engineer

About the role

The Production Senior Engineer will lead the technical execution and daily operations of the low‑voltage (LV) cable production lines in a cable manufacturing facility. This role ensures product quality, process efficiency, and compliance with international standards while driving continuous improvement across all LV production lines.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate and supervise daily LV cable production activities.
• Develop and manage production schedules to meet delivery and capacity targets.
• Monitor KPIs such as output volume, line efficiency, scrap rate and on‑time delivery.
• Align raw material availability with production plans in collaboration with Planning.
• Oversee core LV cable processes: wire drawing, stranding, insulation extrusion, armoring, sheathing and drum‑up.
• Maintain and update SOPs and process control documents.
• Lead lean manufacturing and process‑improvement initiatives to reduce waste and costs.
• Conduct root‑cause analysis and implement corrective and preventive actions.
• Ensure products meet ISO 9001 and customer‑specific specifications.
• Collaborate with Quality Control on in‑process inspections and electrical testing.
• Manage non‑conformance reports and resolve customer quality complaints.
• Coordinate rapid maintenance to minimise equipment downtime.
• Supervise, mentor and evaluate production operators, technicians and engineers.
• Act as technical escalation point for LV‑related production challenges.
• Participate in risk assessments, safety audits and accident investigations.

Required profile

• Minimum 4 years in a manufacturing environment, with at least 3 years in cable manufacturing.
• Hands‑on experience with low‑voltage cable production processes.
• Previous senior or lead engineering role with supervisory responsibilities.
• Familiarity with international cable standards is an advantage.

Required skills

• Low‑voltage cable production techniques (wire drawing, stranding, insulation extrusion, armoring, sheathing, drum‑up).
• SOP development and process‑control documentation.
• Lean manufacturing and continuous‑improvement methodologies.
• Root‑cause analysis, CAPA implementation.
• ISO 9001 quality‑management compliance.
• Electrical testing (conductor resistance, insulation resistance, voltage withstand).
• Risk assessment and safety‑audit procedures.
