Origin Coffee Trainee – East Africa

About the role

Neumann Kaffee Gruppe (NKG) is launching a 24‑month Origin Coffee Trainee programme across Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda. The programme offers recent graduates hands‑on rotations through the entire coffee supply chain, from sourcing and quality to trading, logistics and finance.

Key responsibilities

• Support procurement and quality activities, including sourcing, cupping and grading.
• Assist sustainability and compliance teams with traceability, certifications and ESG reporting.
• Participate in trading and market analysis, covering futures, price risk and supply‑demand trends.
• Contribute to logistics and export operations, handling shipment planning and documentation.
• Work with finance and accounting on margin analysis, working capital and P&L calculations.
• Deliver a capstone project that tackles a real business challenge for senior leadership.

Required profile

• Recent graduate (within 2 years) in Agribusiness, Economics, Finance or related field; master’s degree is a plus.
• Maximum two years of work experience.
• Strong leadership potential and professional integrity.
• Willingness to be based in Kenya, Tanzania or Uganda and travel regionally and internationally.
• Fluent in English; Kiswahili or Luganda is an advantage or a willingness to learn.
