Operations Specialist – Driver Growth & City Expansion

About the role

As an Operations Specialist focusing on Driver Growth, Planning & City Expansion, you will be responsible for launching and scaling secondary cities across Tanzania. You will drive structured driver acquisition, lead city‑expansion initiatives and maintain a healthy supply‑demand balance while collaborating with local teams and cross‑functional partners.

Key responsibilities

• Own the end‑to‑end driver acquisition funnel, from lead generation to activation, using scout programmes, referrals and other channels to meet supply targets.
• Improve onboarding through driver engagement centres, clinics and compliance processes, monitoring activation quality and early retention.
• Design and execute structured growth plans for new and secondary cities to ensure marketplace balance.
• Run targeted initiatives that boost driver activation and ride demand at the city level.
• Monitor, analyse and report on key performance metrics, turning data insights into prioritized execution plans.
• Collaborate with Marketplace, Driver Engagement and Rider teams to identify bottlenecks and enhance overall market performance.

Required profile

• 3–5 years of experience in operations, logistics, mobility or marketplace businesses.
• Strong analytical mindset with hands‑on experience using Excel or Google Sheets and performance dashboards.
• Proactive, structured and able to thrive in ambiguous, fast‑paced environments.
• Execution‑focused with the ability to balance fieldwork and analytical tasks.
• Confident communicator able to work cross‑functionally.
