Operations Specialist – Driver Growth & City Expansion

About the role

We are looking for a data‑driven Operations Specialist to lead driver growth, planning and city expansion initiatives in Dar es Salaam. You will be instrumental in launching secondary cities across Tanzania, balancing supply and demand, and turning new markets into high‑performing marketplaces.

Key responsibilities

• Own the end‑to‑end driver acquisition funnel, from lead generation to activation and performance monitoring.
• Drive driver growth through scout programs, referrals and other acquisition channels to meet supply targets.
• Improve onboarding experience via driver engagement centres, clinics and compliance processes.
• Monitor activation quality and early retention metrics (7‑day and 30‑day).
• Identify and resolve bottlenecks in onboarding, compliance and activation.
• Support expansion into new and secondary cities by building and executing structured growth plans.
• Collaborate with Marketplace teams to maintain supply‑demand balance.
• Run targeted initiatives to boost driver activation and ride demand at the city level.
• Analyse and report on key performance metrics, translating insights into execution plans and supply forecasts.

Required profile

• 3–5 years of experience in operations, logistics, mobility or marketplace businesses.
• Strong analytical mindset with the ability to work in ambiguous, fast‑paced environments.
• Proactive, structured and comfortable balancing fieldwork with analytical tasks.
• Excellent communication skills for collaboration with field teams and cross‑functional stakeholders.
