About the role
StrongMinds is seeking two motivated Mental Health Programme Officers to support the implementation of Interpersonal Group Psychotherapy (IPT‑G) in Dodoma and Dar‑es‑Salaam. The officers will act as technical ambassadors, guiding partner organisations, adapting tools to local contexts, and ensuring high‑quality delivery of group therapy.
Key responsibilities
- Support partners in mapping mental health and GBV referral pathways and integrate IPT‑G indicators into monitoring systems.
- Lead adaptation workshops to contextualise IPT‑G curriculum and develop detailed implementation work plans.
- Design and deliver facilitator training, orient partner leadership, and track trainee progress.
- Assist with mobilisation, screening, group formation and weekly IPT‑G sessions, providing coaching and supervision to facilitators.
- Conduct quality‑assurance checks, ensure accurate data collection, and prepare end‑of‑cycle reports and learning summaries.
Required profile
- Strong interpersonal and cultural sensitivity, with experience in community‑based mental health programming.
- Ability to build rapport with diverse partners and adapt interventions to local contexts.
- Commitment to data‑driven decision‑making and high‑quality outcomes.
Required skills
- Technical knowledge of Interpersonal Group Psychotherapy (IPT‑G) methodology.
- Experience in training, coaching, and supervision of community facilitators.
- Familiarity with monitoring and evaluation processes for mental health programmes.
