MEAL Intern

About the role

The Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability and Learning (MEAL) Intern will support CAN Tanzania’s efforts to embed robust MEAL systems across its climate‑resilience programmes. Working under the MEAL and Compliance Officer, the intern will gain hands‑on experience in data collection, analysis, reporting and knowledge management while contributing to the organisation’s learning agenda.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in implementing organisational and project MEAL frameworks.
• Collect, verify, clean, enter and manage project data.
• Support routine monitoring of indicators and performance targets.
• Participate in data quality assessments and validation exercises.
• Maintain project databases and ensure accurate documentation of evidence.
• Prepare weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual reports.
• Document project achievements, lessons learned, best practices and case studies.
• Organise project documentation, datasets, photographs and means of verification.
• Support the preparation of dashboards, presentations and data summaries.
• Assist with community feedback mechanisms and organise learning events.
• Participate in baseline, midline, endline and other assessment activities.
• Support questionnaire development, data collection, entry and preliminary analysis.
• Contribute to proposal development by compiling baseline information and relevant statistics.

Required profile

• Recent graduate or final‑year student with a strong interest in monitoring, evaluation and climate‑related development work.
• Dynamic, committed and passionate about supporting evidence‑based programmes.
