Market Specialist – Kariakoo (Dar es Salaam)

About the role

Kuwa Pay is seeking a proactive Market Specialist to lead promotion activities in the bustling Kariakoo market of Dar es Salaam. You will be the on‑ground champion for our cross‑border payment solutions, helping local traders and merchants understand and adopt safe, efficient ways to pay Chinese suppliers.

Key responsibilities

• Design and execute local market promotion campaigns in Kariakoo.
• Recruit, train, and manage a network of field promoters.
• Identify high‑potential merchant groups, trading routes and customer segments.
• Educate merchants on Kuwa Pay’s payment products, onboarding procedures and basic usage.
• Gather market feedback and deliver actionable insights to senior management.
• Build and maintain long‑term relationships with traders, promoters and market stakeholders.

Required profile

• 0–15+ years of hands‑on experience operating in the Kariakoo market.
• Deep knowledge of local traders, informal networks and market dynamics.
• Proven ability to recruit, organise and supervise field promoters.
• Hard‑working, reliable and comfortable with demanding field work.
• Strong local network and excellent communication in Swahili; English is a plus.
• Experience in merchant acquisition, market promotion, field sales or local trade networks is preferred.
