Manufacturing Plant Manager

About the role

As the Manufacturing Plant Manager you will lead the production of micronutrient premix at a high‑performing plant serving African markets. You will ensure safe, efficient, and cost‑effective operations while upholding the highest food‑safety and regulatory standards.

Key responsibilities

• Direct all premix blending operations to meet production targets and customer specifications.
• Maintain compliance with FSSC 22000, HACCP, fortification standards and other food‑safety regulations.
• Oversee production planning, process control, and execution of approved formulations to maximise yield and consistency.
• Manage quality‑assurance activities, laboratory testing, traceability, CAPA, and audit readiness.
• Coordinate raw‑material procurement, inventory accuracy, warehouse operations and supplier relationships.
• Lead preventive maintenance, equipment calibration, asset reliability and utilities management.
• Provide technical leadership for formulation development, product customization and process validation.
• Coach and develop production, quality and laboratory teams, fostering a culture of safety and continuous improvement.
• Drive continuous‑improvement projects using data analysis, root‑cause problem solving and waste‑reduction techniques.

Required profile

• 10+ years of progressive experience in food, nutrition, pharmaceutical or FMCG manufacturing.
• At least 5 years in a manufacturing leadership role.
• Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Nutrition, Food Technology, Chemical Engineering or a related field.
• Relevant certifications such as HACCP and FSSC 22000 (or ISO 22000).
