Maintenance Manager – Integrated Poultry Operations

About the role

This full‑time, on‑site position is based in Mkuranga, Tanzania, overseeing maintenance across a fully integrated poultry business that includes layer and broiler farms, an automated feedmill, a processing plant, and supporting utilities.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate and execute preventive, corrective and emergency maintenance for all farm and processing equipment.
• Develop and maintain maintenance schedules, SOPs and detailed logs.
• Supervise maintenance activities for automated poultry equipment, feedmill machinery, abattoir lines, refrigeration, electrical systems, generators, water pumps, ventilation, boilers and compressors.
• Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical and automation issues to minimise downtime.
• Lead and train technicians, electricians, mechanics and external contractors.
• Manage spare‑parts inventory and procurement to ensure critical items are available.
• Monitor KPIs such as downtime, response time and repair costs, and produce regular reports.
• Ensure compliance with safety, electrical, bio‑security and food‑safety regulations.

Required profile

• Extensive hands‑on experience in mechanical and electrical maintenance within a fast‑paced production environment.
• Proven ability to manage technical teams and coordinate shift coverage.
• Familiarity with EC poultry systems, automated feeding, ventilation, generators, refrigeration, boilers, conveyors and industrial utilities.
• Strong focus on safety, compliance and continuous improvement.
