Maintenance Controller

About the role

The Maintenance Controller coordinates, coaches and controls the maintenance teams within a production environment, ensuring maximum equipment availability and continuous improvement of plant performance.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and monitor team goals, delegate tasks and oversee daily maintenance activities.
• Support and coach team members, conduct SKAP assessments and manage personal development.
• Enforce safety, health and environmental standards, conduct audits and maintain 5S compliance.
• Prepare and manage the ZBB/VIC maintenance budget, identify CAPEX opportunities and control costs.
• Lead continuous‑improvement projects, loss and waste analysis, and autonomous operations implementation.
• Plan, schedule and execute repairs, ensure equipment reliability and maintain accurate documentation.
• Oversee recruitment, engagement surveys and performance reviews for the maintenance department.

Required profile

• Proven ability to manage a maintenance department in an industrial setting.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving and decision‑making skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
• High mental alertness, accuracy and a results‑driven mindset.
• Motivational leadership with a focus on safety and standards enforcement.

Required skills

• Mechanical engineering knowledge (FTC/Diploma or BSc).
• Maintenance planning and equipment troubleshooting.
• Safety compliance and 5S methodology.
• Budget preparation and CAPEX identification.
• Equipment reliability and continuous‑improvement techniques.
