IT Internal Audit Manager (M-Pesa)

About the role

The Manager, IT Internal Audit (M-Pesa) leads technology and integrated audits to strengthen the control environment across cyber security, general IT, and application domains. You will execute audits in line with the Internal Audit methodology and professional standards, delivering clear, evidence‑based reports and actionable recommendations.

Key responsibilities

• Execute audits according to the approved annual audit plan.
• Prepare concise audit reports highlighting risks, root causes, and practical recommendations.
• Incorporate data‑analytics techniques to enhance assurance and audit efficiency.
• Identify, document, and follow up on audit issues and remediation actions.
• Track audit actions to meet Quality Assurance Review (QAR) targets.
• Maintain effective relationships with internal clients and stay current on technology‑related audit developments.

Required profile

• IT audit professional with strong analytical, stakeholder‑management, and project‑delivery skills.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or related field.
• At least one professional certification (CISA, CISSP or CISM) is essential.
• 3‑5 years of audit experience, including 3+ years in applications, infrastructure, and general IT audits; cyber‑security audit experience is a plus.

Required skills

• Operating systems: UNIX, LINUX, Windows.
• Databases: SQL, Sybase, Oracle.
• Network security: firewalls, data‑centre security.
• Cyber‑security frameworks and standards (NIST, COBIT, ITIL, COSO, ISO17799, ISO27001).
• Data‑analytics tools: SQL, PowerBI, QlikSense.
• Intelligent Automation: RPA, AI, ML.
