Human Resources Officer

About the role

The Human Resources Officer will join JobsTanzania’s team in Dar es Salaam, managing daily HR operations and supporting a positive workplace culture. This full‑time, on‑site position involves onboarding, record‑keeping, performance management and employee relations.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate onboarding and off‑boarding processes for new and departing staff.
• Maintain accurate employee records and HR documentation.
• Support performance management cycles and related reporting.
• Develop, update and communicate job descriptions and HR policies.
• Ensure compliance with Tanzanian labour laws and internal standards.
• Handle employee relations issues, including conflict resolution and coaching.
• Facilitate communication between staff and management to promote engagement.
• Assist recruitment activities and collaborate with other departments to ensure consistent HR practices.

Required profile

• Proven experience in HR and HR management, handling day‑to‑day operations.
• Knowledge of HR policies, labour regulations and ability to implement compliant procedures.
• Strong employee‑relations skills, including conflict resolution and coaching.
• Ability to develop job descriptions aligned with organisational needs.
• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal and organisational skills with attention to confidentiality.

Required skills

• Proficiency with HR software.
• Proficiency with standard office applications (e.g., Microsoft Office).
