Human Resources Intern

About the role

The United Nations International Residual Mechanism for Criminal Tribunals is seeking a Human Resources Intern to support its Internship Programme in Arusha, Tanzania. The role offers a full‑time, unpaid, five‑day‑a‑week experience, starting as soon as possible for a period of three to six months.

Key responsibilities

• Serve as the primary contact for internal and external inquiries about internships.
• Draft correspondence, handle telephone enquiries, and prepare internship offer letters.
• Track documentation, inform departments of application status, and provide induction briefings to new interns.
• Process check‑outs, maintain and update internship databases.
• Support the Human Resources Section with ad‑hoc tasks as required.

Required profile

• Enrolled in or having completed the final year of a bachelor’s degree, master’s degree, or PhD program in Human Resources, Administration or a related field.
• No prior professional experience is required; however, previous exposure to HR or administration is desirable.
• Ability to provide official academic certificates upon request.

Required skills

• Proficiency with standard office software (e.g., Microsoft Office).
